My name is Mary Hykel Hunt
and I am an Intuitive Consultant with a long-standing record
for accuracy
and sound advice. I have a
substantial practice based in the south west of England
and am consulted
by individuals and organisations
worldwide on matters both personal and professional.
I am also an academic psychologist
with an intense interest in the nature of intuition and
psychic ability.
I have a weekly column as a
psychic agony aunt for the best-selling women’s weekly, Pick
Me Up, and
have a regular broadcast slot on BBC Somerset
Sound called ‘Mary’s Mystery School’, presented by Jo
Phillips.
I am currently working on two new
books, ‘Learning from the Future’ and ‘Synergy of the
Senses’, to be published by O Books.
Since I was a small child, I’ve
been able to access information about people in an
unconventional way – through their names.
When I look
at a name, I see it as an array of different colours and
shapes, sometimes even textures. As I look at these
images, I start to receive information about the
person. That information can be very day-to-day – when
will I sell my house? Will I get that job? - or it can
be about more important life issues, such as “What’s my
life purpose?”.
Wanting to understand more
about how this was happening, I decided to go in to
psychology, and over the last fifteen years, have done a
lot
of research into the nature of intuition and how it
works. And I’ve made some important discoveries.
Firstly, we’re all born with
intuitive ability. Secondly, it’s just as important as
our other senses.
Intuitive ability is an inborn
quality present in us all. It’s an on-board guidance
system – a bit like sat-nav, only more reliable! Its
purpose is to help us live our lives more safely and
effectively – just as our sense of hearing does, for
example.
I’ve also come to realise that
our intuition and our logic are meant to work together.
The down-grading of intuition by scientists is as
unhelpful as the dismissal of the scientific approach by
New Agers. To ignore either seems to me to be a
terrible waste of our resources.
Why be half-brained
when you can be whole-brained? When we allow our logic
and intuition to work together, we gain access to much
richer and more productive ways of living our lives.
Miracles happen.
I continue my research in this
field and am currently studying for my Masters degree in
Psychological Research Methods, with a view to going on
to do a doctorate.
On the basis of this research,
over the last fifteen years I’ve devised an extensive
series of courses and workshops, designed to help you
develop your own abilities and to enhance your own
life. This year’s programme is particularly exciting,
